Adelaide Brighton Limited is a cement and lime and building products manufacturing company and has operations across the country including a total of eleven (11) cement and lime manufacturing kilns all with a mix of traditional fuels of gas, coal and recycled oil. We have recently embarked on a concerted program of utilising alternative fuels and raw materials such as Demolition Wood, Carbon Anode Powder and various mineral slag products as a substitute for these traditional fuels and raw materials.
We have been fortunate to have Katestone work with us throughout our risk assessment studies for both the traditional fuels and the alternative fuel trials program given their innovative and excellent skills in air emissions modelling and health risk assessment.
Our good progress in this area is due in part to their technical support and the Katestone staff deserves our sincere appreciation. However, the Katestone staff are more than just technical experts and they are quite different to some of the other consultants we work with. They have taken the time to understand what we are aiming to do, why we are doing it and how we are trying to present the information. Not many consultants make this a priority. Much of this work is very scientific and technical and often we, in our company, have to deal with people who have no scientific background. The staff at Katestone have been able to cut through the mass of technical information and quickly summarise the major conclusions and messages in the form that we need. This is by no means a trivial task. Pretty impressive stuff from some very special people!
